     SUBJECT: Briefing notes

     1. No change to mission or task organization. FRAGO 69 was issued which
     effective 0600 today makes PL RAM the division rear boundari", designates MSR
     SECRGIA a corps MSR, and tasks the 6th @r Lt Arm Div to screen the corps' west
     flank from the LD to PL RIPPER. R-RAGO 70 is the execute order for Phase IIID
     operations as specified in CONPLA@N RIDGWAY.

     2.  Currlent situation.

         a. The 6thFr Lt Arm     Div is screening the corps west flank, from north t2
     south the 2d FIEI, Is@, RS, and the lst REC.    The lst and 3rd RHC will be used
     .to extend the screen north to PL RIPPER and south to the LD.       3rd RIMA se@-ures
     OBJ WHITT7 and the MSR; 4th RD is west of AS SALMAN providing MSR security.

     continuing to move along MSR VIRGINIA tcward OBJ GRAY. 2 bns from 3rd Bde are

     preparing to follow and support the 24th Inf Div during their attack and is
     prepared to provide a brigade task force OPCON to the 24th.

         d. The 24th In+ Div secured OBJ GOLD at 0200 and is preparing to attack
     OBJ ORANGE with the lst Bde in the n        , 2d Sde in the south, followed by the
     197th Inf Bde. Thep             @ attac5rhItAO600, following a refueling halt.
     They will continue the attack to the east to destroy the RGFC infantry
     divisions. ? Bde is designated as the corps reserves IAW CONPLAN RIDGWAY.
     The 24th concept for possible use of a bde from the 82d is for MSR security
     and for defeating any bypassed elements.
