             4.tU)AVIATION SAFETY:

                 a.LW AIRCRAFT REFUELING.

                      1.14)Refueling will be accomplished in accordance with
             requirements established in FM 10.-OS .

                      2.4A)Protective clothing and equipment. to include
             goggles, helments, gloves. and ear protection will.be used by
             personnel involved in aircraft refueling. All personnel
             involved in refueling operations will have sleeves down.

                      3.(A)High-frequency radios will not be operated within
             100 meters of aircraft being refueled.

                 b.(U)AVIATION CREW ENDURANCE.

                      l.U)Commanders must monitor and enforce established
             crew endurance policies as prearibed by unit field SOP'S.

                      2.aACommanders must establish sleep plans to
             accommodate crew members with appropriate levels of rest.
             Consider mission, equipment. levels of experience,
             environment along with common sense when developing crew rest
             policies.


             5. MISCELLANEOUS SAFETY PRACTICES:

                 a.LU)Sleeping areas, vehicle parking. and movement areas
             will be separated and designated.

                 b.LU)Sleeping under or near parked vehicles, in areas of
             vehicle movement. or in parked vehicles with the engine or
             heater running is prohibited.

                 c.VA)Special caution will be exercised in the use of
             immersion heaters.

                 d.(A)The hazardous properties of gasoline and other
             flammable liquids will be made known to all personnel.
             Controls will be applied to prevent unauthorized use.

                 e.(IA)Antennas and field communication wires will not be
             installed near high tension lines. All personnel working
 with these materials will be made aware of the potential for
             electrocution.

                 f.(A) Enforce the use of safety belts and safety straps.
