           4. (U) TITLE-. LOGISTICS: NBC LOGISTICS AND TRAINING OF DIVISION
           REPLACEMENTS


           5. (U) OBSERVATION: During the period between divisional
           railload-of equipment and actula passenger airflow, replacements
           were sized, outfitted and passed thru the CS Chamber before
           reporting to deploying divisional units.

           6. (U) DISCUSSION- lst ID (M) shipped its unassigned and
           authorized 5% overage of masks and accessories by rail to port
           during November and December 1990. Since passenger airflow did
           not occur until late December 1?90 and January 1991,
           replacements received in the interim period (approximately 600
           in the month a+ December 1990) the required protective mask,
           accessories and chemical Suit were deployed.
               Only installation stocks were available. Protecti,ve masks
           out of ROTC support stocks in Reserve Component Branch (kCB)
           were used. Accessories came +ram Central Issue Facility (CIF)
           a+ DOL and chemical suits from excess stocks in CIF warehouse
           (3260).
               Since all deploying soldiers required a properly fitted
           ensemble and mask, sizing a+ the mask and ensemble followed by a
           CS chamber exercise were necessary as well.
