           4. (U) TITLE: LOGISTICS: UNITS STOCKPILING SELF SERVICE SUPPLY
           CENTER SUPPLIES

           5. (U) OBSERVATION: The first units deploying stock-up on SSSC
           supplies leaving the store with zero balances for the next
           units.


           6. (U) DISCUSSION: The first units bought excessive amounts of
           expendable supplies from the SSSC cleaning out on hand stocks.
           It was impossible to tell when the new stock would be in due to
           out-o-F-stack positions at depot and transportation problems.

           7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Deploying units will exceed their
           supply needs unless strictly controlled within their command
           organization.

           S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Unit S4s ensure that units purchase
           only those quantities they are authorized to buy.
