                                    JULLS LONG REPORT

           4. (U) TITLE: LOGISTICS: Centralized Baggage and Personnel Pick
           Up Points

           5. (U) OBSERVATION: Many units arranged to have all a+ their
baggage picked up at one central location, even though the chalk
sometimes was located in several different areas of post.

           6. (U) DISCUSSION: Centralized pick up points were easier on
the DACS (Rear) transportation assets; but, more importantly,
the chalk commander had better accountability of his or her
chalk by assembling them in one location. Particularly for
baggage pick up, this saved moving portable scales all over post
           and loading and downloading trailers.

           7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Centralized baggage pick up, centralized
personnel pick up, and centralized POM are the key to a
           successful deployment.

           B. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Stress to all units and chalk
commanders that centralizaton is the key to successful
           deployment.

           9. (U) COMMENTS: none
