           2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD conducted by USCENTCOM on 03/01/91.

           3. (U) KEYWORDS: RWO (REAL WORLD OPS), USA (US ARMY), ACTIVE
           COMPONENT, LOGISTICS, EQUIPMENT, FAVORABLE, COORDINATION,
           INTEROPERABILITY, PLANNING.

           4. (U) TITLE: LOGISTICS: FIELDING HMMWV'S TO RC UNITS

           5. (U) OBSERVATION: Fort Riley -Fielded 52 High Mobility
           Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVS) to Reserve Component and
           National Guard units.


           6. (U) DISCUSSION: Per FORSCOM direction, the HMMWV Materiel
           Fielding Team and Fort Riley fielded 52 vehicles to four RC/NG
           units. No problems were encountered.

           7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: USRC and ARNG units were very
           cooperative and supportive of the installation staff.

           S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: The Reserve Component and National
           Guard units and parent unit staffs should be commended for their
           professionalism and cooperation.
