           4. (U) TITLE. LOGISTICS: Units Storing Other Equipment w/Weapons
           in Arms Room

           5. (U) OBSERVATION: Units were storing personal property,
installation property, and excess organizational property in the
           arms rooms with weapons.

6, IU) DISCUSSION. Many units were storing personal property,
installation property, and excess organizational equipment with
weapons. UPECO representatives were inventorying property in
these arms rooms; signing +or this property; and, at the same,
requiring dltal access with the unit armorer because of weapons
being stared prior to deployment. This created a problem in
that UPECO representatives had no real control of some property
           until the unit actually deployed.

           7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Arms Rooms should only be used for its
intended purposes. Commanders need to identify alternate areas
for storage of property. Arms Rooms should be cleared of all
           organizational property.

           B. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: That arms rooms controls be stressed
           in future deployment planning.

           9. (U) COMMENTS: none
