4. (U) TITLE: LOGISTICS: GARRISON OPERATIONS CENTER STAFFING
5. (U) OBSERVATION: There was a lack of +Lill time Transportation
Division, DOL, representation at the GOC during the initial
stages of the mobilization.
o, IUI IIISCUSSION- Transportation played a major role in the
deployment of the lst Infantry Division. Decisions and
time-lines for the following had to be made and executed

-Coordinated load plans.
-Movement from garrison to the Rail Operations Center.
-Movement to the DACB Rear and from there to DACG
Forward.
-Air flight to Theater of Operations.
-Tracking air and sea movement.
-Providing an post transportation.
7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: A transportation management team at the
Operations Center facilitates Solutions to the transportation
problems.
S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: DOL should have a Transportation
Division representative present at the beginning of each
mobilization or exercise.
