          4. (U) TITLE.: LOGISTICS, AVAILABILITY OF NERVE AGENT ANTIDOTE KIT
          (NAAK)


          5. (U) OBSERVATION: During the period of Ist ID (M) deployment,
          Mark I NAAK was a recognized Army-wide shortage issue but not
          for lst ID (M).


          6. (U) DISCUSSION. HISTORY: May 90: Fort Riley installation
          purchased 46,000 NAAK to replace expiring stocks for the Ist ID
          (M) and non-divisional units.
            Sep 90: Shelf life a+ some expiring stocks (40,000) was
          extended.
            Nov 90: Shelf life of remaining expiring stocks (43,891) was
          extended.
            Oct-Nov 90: USAMA pulled expiring stocks for redistribution
          elsewhere.
            Nov 90:  USAMA pulled an additional 16,000 NAAK of the
          Divisional supply with the'promise to replenish the stock within
          60 days.
            Nov 90 thru Dec 90; The Ist ID (M) draws and deploys with its
          full requirement of NAAK (41,385) from installation stocks.
            Aug 90 thru Jan 91: The RC and non-Ist ID (M) units draw and
          deploy with their full requirement of NAAK (approx 7161 and 2394
          respectively) from installation stocks (attached).
            Feb 91: With the Division deployed, the MEDDAC reports on
  hand quantity of 6897.
