2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD conducted by USCENTCOM on 02/05/91.

4. (U) TITLE-. Logistics: Equipment
5. (u) OBSERVATION: Army Equipment Shortages at DACG Foward.
6. (u) DISCUSSION: FAX- The Army has no FAX for Forward area.
The Air Force FAX was used. They are now leaving with FAX,
FORKLIFTS - The two commercial forklifts could not be used
for loading aircraft. Eight inch forks 60" long are required
for the rolloer tines. These forklifts were used at hanger 626
for loading and off loading the equipment. The Air Force
forklifts were used for aircraft. Had to borrow IOK R/T from
the 190 Air Refueling Wing (KANG).
HEATERS - None of the National Guard Herman Nelsons worked.
Air Force heaters used.
7. (u) LESSON LEARNED: The appropriate equipment to accomplish
the mission must be preplanned and available.
B. (u) RECOMMENDED ACTION: FAX - DOL purchase a FAX +or the
DACG Forward. It can be used all year within the DOL, then
located at Forbes for Deployments.
FORKLIFTS - Military IOK R/T forklifts be used in'+orward
area and commercial forklifts be leased for Rear.
HEATERS - Lease good commercial equivalent (Herman Nelson)
